Welcome to the first Harch HBOT podcast. Speaker Paul Harch MD, author of THE OXYGEN REVOLUTION, & Clinical Professor of Medicine, LSU School of Medicine offers this educational experience. Stay tuned for a variety of topics.

What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy? Basically it’s a treatment for wounds in the body at any location and for any duration that uses 100% oxygen as the drug administered under pressure in what’s known as the hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

But what is really happening?

Dr. Harch reviews the traditional definition defined by hyperbaric oxygen doctors and explains the defined pressure setting of 1.4 ATA as too limited. For, in a 2008 study involving U.S. Soldiers suffering a traumatic brain injury and/or post traumatic stress Harch discovers that there is a wider spectrum concerning pressure. As the FDA instructs Dr. Harch to find out and prove what this treatment is, and the combinations of increased oxygen and increased pressure he realizes that HBOT used to stimulate new soft tissue growth and repair is actually connected to specific hormones in our DNA.

Dr. Harch explains the science of hyperbaric oxygen therapy that has recently been realized as gene therapy.

  1. I have a friend with MS that uses a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and it does wonders for her health. I have COPD and have been wondering if this therapy would be good for my lung function, improving and healing my lungs. Oxygen is healing and I believe this would be great for me and others like me. Have any studies been done about this?
